im so sad. geraldine wont be going tmr cause she has exams :(
im starting to feel nervous already especially when meng rong's gonna be speaking with me. all her idioms like rain pouring down. its impressive but somehow i think sounds too memorised for most locals. that reminds me of how pissed i was with cheng laoshi today.
she purposely send all the china and taiwanese to speak, even when shunli can speak better than them. when i pointed out to her that abit too many un-locals (doesn mean foreigners) she said thats the point of it all. then i said its a local talkshow so locals should get more chances to speak, epecially when there really are some who speak better and clearer than some of them, just that the idioms and cheng yu not as fluent. but then again, do u think most singaporeans will listen to a talk that sounds like a speech, reading essay? its understandable but too unfamiliar. that makes it hard for ppl to relate to. even the hosts dont use too 'chim' words but clear and accurate verbs.
i just couldnt take the kind of biasness she has towards students from china thats why i kind of snapped at her just now. i said (in chinese) 'dont you think that everytime students from china are always the ones sent to speak its so errr' than she said 'ya why? i think its very nice wad' then i said 'huh i feel its very disgusting.' honestly i dont mean the way they speak an i dont mean they are disgusting, but the attitude teachers have towards promoting them.then she just stunned there for a second and then i quickly said' i mean its not exactly disgusting, but just so fake.' i dint know how to express myself in a nice way. i was trying to say that its not that locals are not good enough and cant speak well, but its just the people in authority that have a mindset our public speaking is not as good though there are many, especially ij girls who cant speak a proper sentence in mandarin. especially since cheng laoshi very patriotic towards her country. i have never thought that china students are like that, but its the teachers who are projecting this impression openly. and it is a fact that there are singaporeans that speak as good, even better mandarin than them. one more thing is the ability to act or recite an essay. it is not on the basis of slang of language but alot more on the release of emotions. example our poem recital piece last year? issint it so obvious already? but cheng laoshi still clings on to her 'belief' and 'ideology'. patriotism doesnt mean fascism! <br>left school only at 8 today. rehearsed then banner than watched cheer practice. one flyer fell and thats the second injury from my house alr. both flyers cant fly anymore. sigh. i hope everything goes fine and everyone remembers their routine. they cant even remember their steps. maybe our trackers can come in at least 3rd, banner also at least 3rd. so cheerleading must be at least 3rd to make sure we are not last for overall. blue house banner confirm 1st, its just competition for 2nd place now. red and yellow cheer quite prepared. just hope the 4 hours left tmr are gonna be full of miracles.
then dinner with JY as she went through the questions for tomorow. im so nervous. oh my..
