was too tired to continue my post on opposition that day, lemme continue now. lols.

how can PAP be first class govt when the people are even afraid to send for ambulance because they are afraid of the bills? (eg. adapted from mr low and neighbours) how issit that if the economy is recovering as they say it, increasing of GST and taxes still go on. y issit hospital bills are increasing, subsidies for C class wards are scrutinized even more closely delaying treatment. rich people are getting richer but poor people are getting poorer from all the taxes and all the opportunities that are deprived from the lack of paper certificates. its not fair that few hundred billions is going to be spent on a casino when internal healthcare is already a problem. wth 1% of revenue spent on hospital subidies, so much much more on a casino thats gonna bring more harm than good.

they claim its built to attract tourists. there are casinos in genting, indonesia, in our neighbouring countries, cruises, issint it so DUH that more of our own singaporeans will be the ones to squander away money instead? u think a 100 dollar entrance fee is gonna stop people from entering? $100 is not exactly hard to borrow or steal, plus loansharks are everywhere. with so many of my uncles and fren's families going through loansharking torments, its hard to convince me that its gonna be for the people. i think its gonna undermine the values of society VERY BADLY. u think its that hard for teenagers to bluff their way into the casino, that hard to find a look-alike? teens already need a curfew at 11 pm, u think its easy to resist temptation and find excitement from gambling? if it doesnt affect teens our age, it'll affect youths 21 above right.
if after 10, 20 years the casino can no longer contribute to growth in economy compared to other countries, is the govt gonna decide to build a multi billion dollar high class nightclub just like mr low said?

maybe there are other ways to promote tourism than a casino, that will receive higher frequency of local patrons. hold larger-scale events like decorating the whole of singapore to show that singapore really is cosmopolitan? have concerts at sentosa for chinese new year, deepavali, hari raya even labour's day? preserve more shophouses? instead of building modern looking flats in new areas, maybe dedicate certain regions like marina bay to traditional- style houses? i dunno man. just dont build a casino thats gonna lead to even more las vegas style ideas.they contradict our reputation thats supposedly 'clean and green' please. so DOTS.

care about the fact that with a growing population elderlies will have to work as cleaners and waiters, work in mac donalds, collect newspapers and cans to sell even at 70 years old. think of the fact that with this rate of western fusion in singapore, roots and cultures and worse, mother tongue of different races is gonna vanish bye bye. think of ways to strengthen and enhance our already bound reputations.like our low crime rate, our small size that project the impression of a secluded but civilised and united lil island. instill more national rootedness since young, maybe ministers can hold talks in primary schools and really get down in touch with the citizens? make social studies a core subject and really case study without propaganda, even though its gonna be a tough subject. add unique touches to singapore, instead of rampant desperate decisions like casinos that can be found anywhere. u wanna create more jobs? decrease influx of foreign talents. instead of employing china teachers, send local teachers for teaching courses, issint that wad the govt wants- upgrading skills? send CEO candidates for courses and training, hold cross country conferences for govt-based CEOs, even better, private company leaders to innovate ideas that brings up the quality of life in all areas, for all classes. new singapore based manufacturing products, less taxes, more jobs, more unity. maybe that might work if handled properly?

haiya anyway we appeared on the front page of zao bao. my dads the one standing and facing the audience getting them to sit down. mums the one standing and cheering, so cool. so many people and it was only 6 plus :)

really really, we need opposition to check on the govt and give rise to more competition thats gonna benefit us. of course PAP must stay as the main party to execute policies but we need to give them pressure to look more closely at details that might detriment lower classes. i think opposition tend to look after internal issues more than external, look at lower classes more than strengthen the upper strata. and please, its so unfair to use upgrading as a threat to grab votes. its wad they SHOULD do for us. better homes for the people to PAP is like just a tool for support. so u mean the citizens are just pawns for economic growth? and seriously, whether or not they get voted upgrading will still be executed, so wads the point of voting for them just because of that. they have 81 out of 84 seats, even if they dont get voted this time all the cabinet ministers who happen to be from PAP still can contribute, but the opposition cant. and aiyo, they got no new policies and ideas one. all upgrading and personal attacks since 1997 rally.like they will always remember things and always very careful, like they dont quarrel with their wives. y not say these ministers are controversial people who like to pick fights and that is therefore a bad character trait thats gonna affect the whole singapore populatin--"its not a mole out of a mountain, its a proof of wad kind of man he is"... all just because of a form. the fact he can be so sure that the officials made a mistake means he's not usually like that. he is probably confident that his character is not that irresponsible as they made it sound like. plus dont send a well known 82 year old hero to compete with a new face can? he's from PAP doesnt mean the PAP candidate himself will be as great as him.
i better stop. dunno man. just hope i dont get arrested for these 2 posts.

off to study with jieying. running late. bye.
